SuperFractalThing is a freeware application that uses perturbation theory to render arbitrary precision Mandelbrot set images in seconds. SuperFractalThing can also be used to create Mandelbrot set movies, and poster size images.

To zoom in, either double click, or drag out a box and click inside the box. The number of iterations is automatically adjusted, but you may need to change it manually in the preferences window.

Note that the image rendered in the window is limited to 4096x4096 pixels. Higher resolution images will look blurry, and you will have to export as a png to see the full resolution. The max resolution allowed is 12000x10000

SuperFractalThing uses approximations to render its images. In extreme images, these approximations can occasionally go wrong. Watch out for areas that are inconsistent when zooming or translating.
